About the NEOHIO Region

For almost ten years the NEOHIO Region Solo II program has competed at the Bridgestone/Firestone parking lot in Akron. Before that the region used other venues throughout Northeast Ohio. Many "older" autocrossers will recall Lakeland College, the Marginal Lot, and various shopping center lots.

The NEOHIO Solo program received a boost when the Firestone lot was acquired. For the first year the Akron Sports Car Club assisted the fledgling program with advice and moral support. NEOHIO Solo II returned the favor of sanction and insurance support to the Akron Sports Car Club when they acquired their current site, the Goodyear lot. This business bond has since been severed, but strong ties remain among many members of both clubs.

A new alliance with the North Coast Miata Club promises to keep the NEOHIO Region Solo II program strong for several more seasons.

NEOHIO events are held on the first Sunday of each month from May through October. Registration opens at 8:00 A.M. and closes at 9:30 A.M. Drivers meeting is at 9:45 A.M. with the fist car off at 10:00 A.M..

Competition requirements are a valid driver licence and a safe car. (No high profile vehicles are allowed.) Persons under age 18 must have a waiver on file signed by their parent or guardian.
